My Podcasting Journey

My path into podcasting started around 2015–2016, when underrepresented voices in audio were truly finding their stride. What began as an idea to promote a book became something much larger — a platform for real conversation and genuine human connection.

That vision became Sophisticated Ignorance, which launched in September 2016 after months of careful planning. As a naturally private person, learning to host and show up fully — especially in solo episodes — was one of the most challenging and formative things I've done creatively. Finding my voice, mastering production, and eventually stepping fully into the producer role changed how I see storytelling altogether.

Over nearly four years the show gave me unforgettable conversations, meaningful connections, and moments I didn't expect — including being recognized at a networking event and at a former job, reminders that the work was reaching people in ways I couldn't always see.

The through line from then to now is simple: I believe storytelling is one of the most powerful ways people connect. Shared experiences, different perspectives, one conversation at a time — that's what drives everything I make.
